How insensitive one can be?
I was reading a report lately which said that 29 Trucks of NATO supplies were set ablaze by a rocket attack in Quetta. Number of readers commented on the news story, some of them justified the attack as the reflection of anger building among people after NATO attack on Pakistani Soldiers, whereas, one of the commenters expressed his concerns about the weakening of the position Pakistan has in current scenario. I was bothered by neither of the approaches, what disturbed me was a comment which said;
“Why is our environment being polluted by blazing the trucks?”
And there I was silent, numbed and out of thoughts for few moments. “How insensitive?” was the first two words I uttered.
The dynamics of the global politics and American obsession of “Global Domination” had made Pakistan the center of attention for the world many years ago. We may not be in a state of war officially but we are fighting the multifaceted battle for a whole decade. No country on earth has suffered and lost as much as Pakistan and Afghanistan in the War against terrorism. People in both countries are living the hardest time of their lives. Each act of violence from any side worsens the situation even more.
I happen to agree with the person who showed the concerns over Pakistan’s Position after this attack, but also I am not in total disagreement with the others who indicated the building anger and aggression for US and allies. For Pakistani Government and Armed forces Its very crucial and decisive period, and any decision will have a direct impact on the lives of millions of people not only in Pakistan but other parts of the world too. We as a nation have to understand the gravity of situation and have to show our unity and support to the Armed forces and Government on this critical issue.
